OUR LOGOS
Logos tell a lot about what is important in a very visual, illustrative way. Our's represent our family, our home and our Heritage.

Donauchwabien Farm and Cellars
Our Donauschwabien Farm and Cellars logo, created by Jim, depicts our family's focus. The logo combines the location of our winery, located in the heart of the Cleveland National Forest, nestled in a canyon within the Santa Ana Mountains along a babbling creek. Our traditional Austrian Hungarian dancing that our family enjoys and the costumes we wear, the vineyards from where we obtain our grapes, the giant oaks that embrace our home and winery, the stunning St. Michael's Abbey located in our canyon, even the chickens with whom we share our property, all contribute to our lives and represent what we hold dear.

Donauschwaben Crest
The Donauschwabien crest, honoring our heritage, was created in 1950 by Hans Diplich. The black eagle, chosen by Charlemagne in the 9th century to represent the Holy Roman Empire, protects the borders of the Austrian Hungarian region from where our ancestors originated. White represents peace, green is for hope and the fields from their homeland which became known as the "Bread Basket of Europe". The six towers of the Timisoara fortress are the six main settlements founded by the Donauschwaben: Banat, Batschka, Slavonia-Symia, Sathmar, Hungarian Highlands and Swabian Turkey. Over it lies the rising sun, the symbol of Christ, and the waning crescent moon, representing the Turks that were pushed back to the land from which they came. The blue band is symbolic of the Donau River, the route most of our forefathers took to find a better life.

Sunflowers and Rosemary
Our Sunflowers and Rosemary logo was created by Isabell. The illustration represents staples of many Donauschwabien gardens.
Rosemary was planted at front doors of homes and represented love, fidelity and remembrance. It was used at most special occasions, including weddings and Kirchweih, the yearly celebration of the completion of the harvest and church consecration. Sunflowers signify long life, lasting happiness, good fortune and positive opportunities. It was also the primary crop that was grown to sustain the community. Sunflowers are also a symbol of cheer and joy, turning their faces towards the sun and light.
We aspire to live a good life, incorporating what Sunflowers and Rosemary remind us of...to live a life of love, fidelity, remembrance, happiness and joy.
